The Aston Martin Rapide S dreamed of competing with the Porsche Panamera. Unfortunately for the British, the German proved to be superior on all levels, with more interesting performances, a more rigorous behavior and a superior interior space. Failing to climb to the level of the major road Zuffenhausen, the Rapide S is a place apart in the category thanks to a particularly successful plastic and the voluble and bewitching atmospheric V12 of 5.9 liters which delivers 560 hp and 63.2 mkg of torque.
Combined with an 8-speed Touchtronic III automatic transmission, this antique engine allows a 0 to 100 km / h in 4”4 and a top speed of 327 km / h. For 2018, an AMR version brings the power of the V12 to 603 hp and lowers the car by 10 mm while modifying its suspension settings.
The top speed climbs to 330 km / h despite a substantial mass of 1,990 kg. The English limousine will offer a fully electric version next year, limited to 150 copies and developed with the help of Williams Advanced Engineering. The latter will then represent a luxurious alternative to the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan.
